Position Summary An EKU Career Development Specialist helps students and alumni define and pursue their career goals, by providing career counseling sessions and targeted presentations and initiatives. Assesses the level of services needed by each individual, facilitates decisions on majors and careers, incorporating results from career assessments and factual information from career libraries; provides appropriate referrals when necessary; occasionally educates students and alumni in writing a resume, preparing for an interview, targeting employers and conducting a job search. Assists the Associate Director in designing programs and managing data related to career development initiatives. This position is 10-months in duration.
Minimum Education Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a related field or a minimum of 18 credit hours of graduate course work in counseling, student development or psychology required.
Minimum Experience One year of highly related work experience is required.
Desired Qualifications Master’s in Counseling preferred.
Experience in career development or counseling is strongly preferred.
