BCA has limited internship opportunities for Bachelor Level Students in the Instructor Position at both campuses. BCA operates 2 Louisville locations; Kosair Charities East Campus treats children ages 2-12 and the Mid-City Campus treats children and young adults ages 13-24. This internship offers supervision and the opportunity to advance as an RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) through BCA provided training and exams.
Summary: Assists the assistant lead instructor with client training programs by performing the following essential duties. • Creates training materials and teaching programs for learners under the direction of the Lead Instructor. • Communicates effectively with Lead Instructor, Program Coordinators, Program Director and other team members. • Attend to the needs of the assigned binder daily. • Attends all staff meetings and department meetings as requested. • Receives and acts on constructive feedback. • Models positive and effective instructional skills including enthusiasm, positive praise, and reinforcement. • Completes communication logs for learners as directed by the Lead Instructor. • Communicates with parents in a friendly and appropriate manner. • Maintains assigned binder by graphing daily and moving targets from one acquisition level to another. • Follows the general operations of the team in which they are assigned. • Maintains a positive and professional working environment. • Accurately completes required billing time-sheets. Requirements • Must be able to work a minimum of 16 hours per week. BCA will be flexible with student class schedules. See the attached calendar. BCA’s hours of operation are 8:00 – 4:00 Monday – Friday. • Enrolled in a Bachelor-Degree Program in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Sociology, Education, or similar Human Service Field. No previous work experience required. • Reliable transportation. • FBI Criminal Background Check completed through the Department of Human Services • Must complete HIPPA, Intro to BCA, and other required trainings.Apply @ http://www.bcaky.org/
