Purpose
Serving as The Audio Video Technician / Production Coordinator (AVT/PC) helps to ensure the church accomplishes its mission through the production of creative and inspiring services and special events
General Description
The AVT/PC serves as part of the Worship Team during services, The AVT/PC configures, operates, and troubleshoots all audio/video equipment used in the execution of services and special events. This includes audio/visual equipment connection, computer used for the projection of announcements, worship songs, videos, sermon notes, etc., CD players, DVD players/recorders, and audio/video operation during rehearsal(s) and production of all services and special events.
WORK TYPE:
- Part-time: average 10-15 hours/week, at $14 – 20 /hr based on education and experience.
- Time Commitment: The AVT/PC serves during Sunday morning rehearsals, scheduled services and special events as needed.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Arrive prior to the scheduled event/activity time and begin review of service schedule and other information related to the service or special event.
- Evaluate the status of the sound board, as well as the audio/visual equipment and reconfigure as needed.
- Check, replace batteries in, and distribute wireless microphones and other equipment as needed to equip whoever is presenting, etc.
- Coordinate and direct sound checks with Organist and Pianist and others involved in the production to ensure equipment is functioning properly and that proper sound levels and sound mix is obtained.
- Participate in rehearsals to fully understand service details and to practice transitions and audio cues as needed to minimize distractions during the service(s).
- Coordinate with the Worship Leader to produce the service/special event as planned.
- Attend Worship Team meetings and training sessions as needed.
- Recruit and train teams of volunteer technicians.
o Manage and schedule volunteer technicians
- Record (video and audio) worship services for our internet broadcasts.
- Purchase and maintain A/V equipment.
- Must be able to recognize and maintain confidentiality.
- Will edit and upload services, special events, and other digital content as needed to the Church’s website, Facebook, YouTube channel, etc.
Other Requirements
- Cell phone use is to be restricted to worship related communications and emergencies only during worship services.
- Talking and other noises are to be kept to a minimum during worship services.
- Individual appearance should be neat and orderly.
- Audio/Visual equipment (to include screens) is to be cleaned periodically.
Reporting Relationship:
The Video Technician reports directly to the Senior Pastor or his/her designee.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- General skills in writing, speaking, reading, math, and reasoning.
- Frequent use of computers including both Mac and Windows platforms.
- Knowledge of Audio-Visual Equipment and use.
- Frequent balancing, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing and standing.
- Physical requirement with occasional lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
