Summary of Responsibilities:
The Junior Accountant is responsible for entering invoices into the accounting system, transmitting daily deposits to the bank, and preparing journal entries for review by the accounting staff. This individual is also responsible for responding to inquiries regarding vendor payments and monitoring compliance with lender/investor reporting as well as overall company procedures. The Junior Accountant will further provide recommendations regarding the accounting for balances on financial statements, assisting with year-end tax and audit activities; and reviewing accounts payable to include wire transfers/bank check requests, deposit review, bank draws, bank reconciliations, cash projections, and cash and accounts receivable balances.
Summary of Requirements:
Ideal candidates for the Junior Accountant position hold at least an Associate degree in accounting or related field from an accredited college or university; and a minimum of one (1) year related experience. Ideal candidates should possess effective interpersonal/client service, verbal and written communication, organizational and time-management skills with a high attentiveness to detail with an effective ability to take initiative, adapt, prioritize, and multi-task when faced with competing demands. The successful ability to work independently and within a team is also required. The Junior Accountant exercises utmost discretion and confidentiality on various matters; and escalates issues to management or other team members as required. MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) experience is required.
