Customer Support Telephone Operator

The Customer Support Telephone Operator is primarily responsible for handling incoming calls for the Bank. They will assist callers with general customer service by phone. As needed, they will route callers to the appropriate department or employee. If the caller requests a specific employee that happens to be unavailable, the Operator will either take a message and forward it to the employee or, if the caller desires, the Operator will transfer them to that employee’s voicemail.

 

Job Duties

In addition to their primary duty, as mentioned above, the Operator will have a wide range of responsibilities, which may include:

  • Verifying caller’s identity by phone prior to providing information.
  • Providing account information as needed.
  • Assisting callers with account issues.
  • Providing information about products or services.
  • Taking check orders by phone and processing orders in the Bank’s system.
  • Assisting with internal communications by answering phones and relaying messages within the organization.
  • Providing post-call follow-up to ensure that customers have been satisfied with the experience.
  • Processing incoming faxes and email messages and forwarding them to the appropriate person.
  • Assist Customer Support Department with other duties as necessary, such as scanning and filing, without sacrificing the Operators primary duty- answering the phone.

 

Job Requirements

A high school diploma or GED certificate is required.
