Assistant General Manager, American Trailer Rental Group (ATRG) – Evansville, IN

The Assistant General Manager works in the absence of local General Manager.  The Assistant General Manager will work closely under the General Manager to set priorities and develop the business and the team to support customer demands. The Assistant General Manager will work with the Operations Manager, admin staff and vendors to have total knowledge of the local operations from all perspectives.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assume the GM role in their absence performing GM functions
  • Assist GM with developing and implementing marketing strategies to place trailers, containers, equipment on rent
  • Coordinate servicing and repair of trailers, containers, and equipment
  • Supervise variety of individuals in different professions to provide first class trailer to customers
  • Develop team members to advance their skills with supporting the organization
  • Source trailers and assist with procuring more assets to meet customer demands
  • Other duties, as assigned
  • Qualifications to be successful:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management or related field preferred
  • HS diploma or equivalent required

Skills we are looking for:

  • 4-8 years’ experience in transportation, trailer service center or related marketing of transportation equipment
  • Excellent strategic planning and problem solving, detail oriented with follow-up skills
  • Most possess a sense of urgency along with being a team player in a fast-paced organization
