Summerbridge is a free, 6- week summer academic program for under- resourced middle school students. For 2023, we are recruiting 10-12 college students to teach math or language arts. Each teacher is assigned a classroom of 5-8 students who are grouped proficiency. Teachers are giving a lot of room for creativity and teaching methods. We accept all majors – the only prerequisite is a passion for teaching children. A stipend of $2800 for the 6 weeks will be provided. The day begins around 7:45 a.m. and ends most days at 4:30 p.m. Teachers help with food preparation (breakfast or lunch), afternoon activities, and programming. A 3-day mandatory training course will be held before school starts. Certified teachers in both subjects will be present every day of school to guide, advise and mentor.
