‘A Music Spectacular’ to be presented April 12 in Gheens Recital Hall

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky – “A Musical Spectacular,” presenting selections from popular musicals, will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 12 in The Gheens Recital Hall in the Gosser Fine Arts Center, 210 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky.

The public is invited to the free concert.

Dr. Juliana Moura, assistant professor of voice who is the director of the production, said, “We will be presenting several scenes from musicals. It will be a super fun and beautiful concert!”

Moura said the pieces will start with recent musicals such as “Waitress,” “Hamilton,” “SIX The Musical” and will go through some of the classical ones such as “The Sound of Music,” “Oklahoma” and others.

Dr. James Killion, associate professor of music (voice), is the assistant director. Dr. Carla Golightly, an adjunct instructor in music, on piano; Landon Dawson, a junior of Nicholasville, Ky., on electric bass; and Hayden Dabney, a junior of Mannsville, Ky., on drums, will also perform.

Campbellsville University’s Bluegrass Ensemble, consisting of Dawson, Collin White, a sophomore of Campbellsville; Codie Allen, a junior of Campbellsville, and William Whitt, a sophomore of Eminence, Ky., will play.

Students singing during the concert include Collin White; Selia Dykes, a sophomore of Campbellsville; Anna Clara Moura, a freshman from Campbellsville; Jacob Hayes, a sophomore from Campbellsville; Abby Russell, a senior from Russell Springs, Ky.;

Camila Moreira, a graduate student from Brazil; Melody Faith Moore, a high school student from Columbia, Ky., Haley Fecher, a senior from Campbellsville; Elizabeth Day, a junior from Elizabethtown, Ky.;

Grace Alvey, a junior from Louisville; Katelyn Edwards, a sophomore from Vine Grove, Ky.; and Reagan Schatz, a senior from Louisville, Ky.
