The public and Campbellsville University’s students, faculty, staff and coaches will have the opportunity to hear from Brad Rhoads, co-founder of Grace Marriage, at the Ransdell Chapel at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 when he speaks at the weekly chapel service at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.
Rhoads, and his wife, Marilyn, founded Grace Marriage, an organization that serves local churches in marriage ministry by creating engaging curriculum to keep couples on a growth track in their relationship with Jesus and each other.
Grace Marriage helps couples to transition from a performance-based relationship to a grace-based relationship, cultivating a wellness and investment mentality in their marriage. As of 2019, Grace Marriage serves close to 5,000 participants, in 90 plus churches around the world.
Rhoads has been lay pastor of marriage at his local church since 2010. He has served as a marriage pastor since 2011. Together, he and his wife lead marriage retreats and 20-week marriage intensives, author coaching materials, provide leadership development training and lead marriage coaching groups.
Rhoads graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Furman University and played on the varsity tennis team. He graduated Order of the Coif (top 10%) from the University of Kentucky College of Law and practiced as a full-time attorney for over 20 years.
He practiced law at a large firm in Nashville, Tenn. before starting Rhoads and Rhoads Owensboro in 1996. He practiced law at Rhoads and Rhoads until 2015 when he transitioned to full-time work for Grace Marriage. While practicing law, Rhoads served as Special Justice on the Kentucky Supreme Court and appointed by the Kentucky Supreme Court to the bar missions committee.
Rhoads writes materials, leads marriage groups, leads marriage conferences and has developed Grace Marriage Coaching.
His wife, Marilyn, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lipscomb University, completed her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern Indiana with a 4.0 and counseled at Counseling Associates in Owensboro, Ky., before leaving the practice to be home with her children.
She works with Grace Marriage assisting in writing, editing, speaking and leading marriage groups and marriage conferences.
