CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University dual credit achieved record enrollment for the fall 2022 semester, according to recent data from the university.
For the semester, Campbellsville University has a total of 3,699 students enrolled in dual credit courses.
“Campbellsville University has been blessed with the growth of our dual credit program,” Scott Necessary, executive director of dual credit enrollment, said. “We have seen several record enrollments over the past several years and are happy to be part of the success.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for students looking to jumpstart their college career.”
In the fall 2015 semester, Campbellsville University had 864 high school students enrolled in dual credit courses. By the fall 2019 semester, Campbellsville University had 3,352 students in dual credit courses—a 288 percent increase in that time.
Dual credit courses are college-level courses taken by a high school student that count toward high school and college credit.
“Campbellsville University has continued to experience strong growth in its dual credit enrollment numbers,” Dr. Jason Meriwether, vice president of enrollment management at Campbellsville University, said.
“This is a reflection of our dual enrollment team’s hard work and dedication. Campbellsville University is always seeking new partnerships to grow our dual enrollment program further. We are committed to delivering quality dual credit courses that give high school students a significant advantage in pursuing their post-secondary education.”
As the largest dual credit provider among private Kentucky universities, Campbellsville University has more than 170 high school dual credit instructors. Campbellsville University has established partnerships with 60 school systems across the Commonwealth of Kentucky and several homeschool partnerships.
Qualifying sophomores, juniors and seniors are accepted into the dual credit program based on academic achievement. Students can take dual credit courses at their high school, online or at Campbellsville University’s main campus or one of the university’s regional education centers.
“Along with the numerous applications and transcripts processed each semester, we continue to work on nurturing and building our high school partnerships,” Necessary said. “I’m thankful for the team I get to work with daily. They each work so hard to make this a success.”
According to Necessary, Campbellsville University is continuing to establish partnerships with new schools for the spring semester.
“Another growth area is to identify new teachers with our current partner schools who may now be credentialed as adjunct faculty members for Campbellsville University,” Necessary said. “Our summer training with our dual credit teachers is a beneficial time to deepen their knowledge of our program and share those details with their students.”
We are expecting a great spring enrollment to follow up a strong fall enrollment and should have that completed by late February or early March.”
