CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Enrollment at Campbellsville University reached 14,271 students during the 2019 fall semester, rising by 9.68 % since the previous fall semester and by 303 % since the 2015 fall semester.
“Campbellsville University is committed to diversifying our academic offerings through the expansion of certificate, diploma, work-ready, dual credit, regional, online and hybrid programs,” Dr. Shane Garrison, vice president for enrollment services, said.
“This diversification has allowed us to grow the overall university enrollment,” Garrison said.
Garrison said it is Campbellsville University’s mission to “provide quality, affordable Christian higher education” with multiple options for prospective students and their families.
Within the last five years alone, new programs including a certificate in welding, master’s program in justice studies and the master’s of science in information technology management have been added to the Campbellsville University course offerings.
Regional enrollment is at a 2,690 % increase since 2015 with over 6,800 students being enrolled at the Louisville Education Center. Regional centers are located in Louisville, Harrodsburg, Somerset, Hodgenville and Liberty. Elizabethtown, Owensboro and Summerville house instructional sites for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Out-of-state locations include two in California at Los Angeles and Lathrop, located in the San Francisco Bay region.
Keeping up with main campus and regional enrollment, online enrollment has also contributed to the number of students at Campbellsville University.
In fall 2015, 485 students were enrolled in online programs. Today, 1,870 students are enrolled in online programs for a 285 % increase.
Online programs continue to be added each year including a Master of Science in Computer Science, Master of Arts in Teaching, English certificate and Master of Science in Nursing.
Graduate enrollment has risen by over 7,000 students in the last five years and has included the addition of a doctorate program, which began accepting students in 2017. The Master of Social Work program has risen from having no data in 2015 to having 485 students this semester.
Other master’s programs offered by the university include Master of Music, Master of Arts in Sport Management, Master of Arts in Education Teacher Leader, Professional Master of Business Administration and Master of Marriage and Family Therapy.
While enrollment continues to grow each year, one item that has stop growing is the cost of tuition at Campbellsville University.
According to Garrison, tuition has been frozen for the past three years and will continue to be frozen for the 2020-21 academic year.
Most other institutions in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and surrounding states, both private and public, have raised the cost of tuition every year.
“The tuition freeze demonstrates Campbellsville University’s commitment to student affordability and access to families of all socio-economic levels,” Garrison said.
The mission of the CU enrollment team, according to Garrison, is to “recruit, enroll and retain students toward graduation.”
Garrison said, “Providing diverse academic opportunities, freezing tuition costs and making access available to all families, fosters a strong campus environment and ensures we are striving toward our university mission.”
