CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – After 36 years of service, Dr. Donnie Gosser is stepping down as a member of the Campbellsville University Board of Trustees.
At the university’s annual President’s Club dinner Oct. 25, Gosser was honored by receiving a resolution, that was approved by the Board of Trustees Oct. 26, recognizing his service and naming him as trustee emeritus of the board.
A trustee emeritus title is one used to designate a retired member of the board who is permitted to retain as an honorary title the rank of trustee. Gosser is the first trustee to receive this title.
Dr. H. Keith Spears, interim president of Campbellsville University, read the resolution that said: “Dr. Gosser and his wife, Anna, have repeatedly shown their love and support of Campbellsville University through their years of financial support of the institution, their love of students, and advocacy of the cause of Christian Higher Education.”
Spears said the board “extends its deepest appreciation to Dr. Gosser for his dedication and service to Campbellsville University.
“All those words really cannot sum up what this man has meant to this institution.”
Gosser has served on numerous advisory boards including the Hardin County Industrial Association Board, Hardin County Chamber of Commerce Board, All Kentucky City Committee for Hardin County and Elizabethtown and the Kentucky Employers Mutual Insurance Board.
He was selected as Small Business Person of the Year for Hardin County and Elizabethtown in 1998 and is a member and trustee of Severns Valley Baptist Church in Elizabethtown.
