Campbellsville University Kids College to be held in June and July on campus

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University will host her annual Kids College and Jr. Kids College camps during the months of June and July.

Kids College and Jr. Kids College, on behalf of the Campbellsville University’s Virginia Ponser Flanagan Technology Training Center (CUTTC), provides students, preschool through eighth grade, with opportunities to broaden the scope of their interests and interact with other young people.

Daran Kennon, industrial education coordinator and Kids College director, said, “We try to make it educational and fun for the children. We love to see their smiling faces and love to see them learn.”

There are three scheduled sessions to take place during the summer. The first Kids College is June 3-6 and will be for students in second through eighth grade. Each day’s events will last from 1 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Another session for second through eighth grade students is scheduled for July 15-18. Events for this week will last from 9 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.

Students will be allowed to pick two of the six offered classes in which to participate. The offered classes are as follows:

Sharp Shooting Archery; Cooking Up a Storm; Cool Scientist; Photography Class; Creative Art and Design Class; and Computer Programing.

The Jr. Kids College session will be June 17-20 from 1 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. and is open to those in preschool through first grade. Students will be rotated through all five classes being offered: Reading Times; Craft Time; Cool Scientist; Kindle Fun; and Tiny Tiger Archery.

Tuition for each camp is $75 per child and must be included with the registration forms. No refunds will be issued once the student is accepted into the program. Each program will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. A substitute class may be offered in place of a full class at the director’s discretion.
