CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville University Orchestra will present its final concert of the year Thursday, April 28, at 8 p.m. in the Ransdell Chapel on the campus of Campbellsville University at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, Ky.
The program will include: Christoph Willibald Gluck’s “Dance of the Blessed Spirits” from Orpheus; Franz Schubert’s, “Symphony #8 in b Minor, Movement I, Allegro Moderato”; “America the Beautiful” written by Samuel A. Ward, arranged by Alfred Reed; and Gioacchino Rossini’s “William Tell Overture.”
The concert will also present the premier performance of “Superhero Symphony” by Seth Johnson of Leitchfield, Ky., a senior composition major at the university.
Dr. J. Robert Gaddis, dean of the School of Music, and Wansoo Cho, instructor in music, will conduct the orchestra.
The program is free and open to the public.
