CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – “God has not forgotten you,” Demetria Gilkey, a Master of Theology student of Louisville, Ky. and inspirational speaker, said at Campbellsville University’s chapel service on Oct. 28.
The service consisted of student preachers Gilkey and Dustin Webb, a sophomore of Lawrenceburg, Ky., and was arranged by Dr. Scott Wigginton, professor of pastoral ministries/associate director of marriage and family therapy.
“God is working on your situation right now whether you realize it or not,” Gilkey said.
She shared the story of Job by saying it is up to us to trust and believe in God no matter our circumstances because he has a divine plan for us all. Gilkey read from Deuteronomy 31:6 to share that God will never leave or forsake us and that we must have faith in his plan and in his timing. She read from Matthew 6:25-30 and said not to worry because God will provide and take care of us.
Webb read from Luke 10:1-12 in saying that God uses us for his plan and sends us out to do his will. He said we must depend on God because he will always give us everything we need.
“God will always give us the resources we need to be fruitful and as kingdom people. He wants us to depend on him,” Webb said.
“He is the only one that can provide that real strength while we’re on our way to do the work of God,” he said.
Webb said that we must not let fear guide us but rather be encouraged by God’s strength in order to carry out his will of serving others.
