CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Community Trust Bank, Campbellsville University’s Theater Department and Town Hall Productions presents “The Last Five Years,” an outdoor musical production in the Miller Park Amphitheater Sept. 18, 19 and 20 at 8 p.m.
Those who plan to attend are asked to bring their own lawn chairs and adhere to new guidelines from Andrew Ward, owner of Town Hall Productions.
Ward said, “We will emphasize social distancing measures for attendees that include sitting with members of your household while maintaining six feet space from other groups before, during and after the performance.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring masks to wear for any amount of time that maintaining six feet of separation is not possible. Town Hall Productions is requesting pre-event online registration for contact tracing purposes.
For any who simply walk up to the event unplanned, the online registration process will be announced both before and after the performance.
Staff volunteers will be on hand to encourage attendees to follow the safety protocols. Restrooms or portable toilets will be fully stocked with normal supplies plus disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer.
Since the performers will not be wearing masks, no audience members will be seated closer than ten feet to the performance space. No concessions will be made available, and no programs/literature will be distributed.
Any donations will be encouraged strictly to be made through online channels or dropped into a secure donations box. There will be no making of change or required payments for admission.
“At the conclusion of the event we will encourage the audience to wait as we dismiss them by area. This will hopefully help avoid post-event mingling,” Ward said.
Signage will be placed around the event area notifying participants of the social distancing and mask guidelines. Performers and volunteers will undergo temperature checks prior to the event.
Starr Garrett, director of the Russ Mobley Theater and professor of theater at Campbellsville University, is the play’s director. Matt Nall is the technical director. Cast for the play is Cathy Hyatt, played by Alia McClendon, and Jamie Wellerstein, played by Jon Andrew.
Both McClendon and Andrew are employed at Campbellsville University as community theater director and theater arts instructor, respectively.
Those who plan to attend will not need to purchase a ticket but will need to register to assist with contact tracing.
