CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University’s School of Theology and Church Relations Council invite you to this year’s January Bible Study Preview led by Dr. Jarvis Williams, assistant professor of New Testament and Greek at Campbellsville University, Thursday, Aug. 2 from 1 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in the Banquet Hall of the Badgett Academic Support Center at 110 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky.

Williams will speak on “The Greatest Week in History: Luke’s Account of the Passion Week.” The preview is open to pastors and lay persons, according to Dr. John Hurtgen, dean of the CU School of Theology.
There will be four sessions, and study materials and dinner are included in the $15 registration fee. Registration is from 12:30 p.m. until 1 p.m. in the Banquet Hall, with a welcome at 1 p.m. with the first session beginning at 1:15 p.m.
Williams completed his master’s degree in divinity in 2003 and a master’s degree in theology in 2004 and doctoral studies at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with his Ph.D. received there in 2008. He began teaching at Campbellsville University in January 2008.
He is the author of “Maccabean Martyr Traditions in Paul’s Theology of Atonement: Did Martyr Theology Shape Paul’s Conception of Jesus’ Death?” (Wipf & Stock, 2010), “One New Man: The Cross and Racial Reconciliation in Pauline Theology” (Broadman & Holman 2010) and “For Whom Did Christ Die: The Extent of the Atonement in Paul’s Theology” (Paternoster, 2012).
He is a member of the American Academy of Religion, Evangelical Theological Society, Institute for Biblical Research and Society of Biblical Literature.
Hurtgen said, “Dr. Williams has a passionate voice for proclaiming the gospel that makes ‘one new man’ in Jesus Christ. He has been invited to speak at Bethlehem Baptist’s (John Piper’s church) annual conference on reconciliation in January 2013.”
Williams is from Whitesburg, Ky., and he and his wife, Ana, have one son, Jaden Alexander.
