Campbellsville University to hold 12th Annual Noon Organ Recital Series 2019-20

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University will hold six 2019-20 organ recitals for the 20th Annual Noon Organ Recital Series at Campbellsville University’s Ransdell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, with one at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at 213 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky.

All series begin at 12:20 p.m. and run to 12:50 p.m. in time for those attending to have lunch and return to work. The recitals are free and open to the public.

The Ransdell Chapel organ is an 1894 Farrand and Votey Organ enlarged to 51 ranks by Moeller, Pilcher and Milnar Organ Companies.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church’s organ is an 1875 Pomplitz Organ restored to its original condition of 10 ranks by B. Rule Organ Company.

The schedule for the organ recital series is as follows:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019 – James Sperry, professor emeritus of organ, from Greensburg, Ky., Ransdell Chapel.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019 – Dr. Wesley Roberts, professor of music at Campbellsville University, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019 – Steven Adams, organist, St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral and Bardstown United Methodist Church, Bardstown, Ky., Ransdell Chapel.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020 – Josh Duncan, organist/choirmaster, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Louisville, Ky., Ransdell Chapel.
  • Tuesday, March 17, 2020 – Ted Gentry, organist and handbell director, Maxwell Street Presbyterian Church, Lexington, Ky., Ransdell Chapel.
  • Tuesday, April 7, 2020 – Dr. Wesley Roberts, professor of music at Campbellsville University, with faculty from Campbellsville University’s School of Music, Ransdell Chapel.
