“Once Upon a Mattress” is the next musical installment Campbellsville University’s theater department will be producing. The play will be presented in the Russ Mobley Theater of the Alumni Building at 114 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky.
Performances are Homecoming weekend, Thursday, Oct. 4 through Sunday, Oct. 7.
Starr Garrett, associate professor of theater and theater director, said, “‘Once Upon A Mattress’ is a fun, musical reimagining of the Princess and the Pea story.”
The production is by Community Trust Bank, Campbellsville University Theater and Town Hall Productions and will be Thursday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 5 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 6 at 2:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 7 at 2:30 p.m.
According to www.rnh.com, “If you thought you knew the story of ‘The Princess and The Pea,’ you may be in for a walloping surprise! Carried on a wave of wonderful songs, by turns hilarious and raucous, romantic and melodic, this rollicking spin on the familiar classic of royal courtship and comeuppance provides for some side-splitting shenanigans. Chances are you’ll never look at fairy tales quite the same way again.”
