CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — From “Hairspray” to the Improv Harlequins productions, the Russ Mobley Theater has presented several productions this fall. One of the presentations that will occur on the stage is a show directed by Lacy Mudd of Campbellsville, a senior at Campbellsville University, Nov. 16 and 17.

There will be two options to view the play. Both will begin at 7 p.m. on Nov. 16 and 17 at the Russ Mobley Theater in the Alumni Building, 114 University Drive, Campbellsville. This production is open to the public for $3 each.

By being in several productions and studying theater, Mudd is no stranger to the stage. She has had lead roles in several plays such as “Hairspray,” “The Importance of Being Earnest” and “The Singing Princess.” Not only has she had experience through acting on stage, she has also had backstage roles. These credentials exhibit the skills that she will be able to use in her senior play.

The play Mudd is directing is called ‘No Exit’ written by Jean-Paul Sarte. It is about three individuals who find themselves together in an unpleasant predicament.

Since this is her first time directing a play, Mudd has high expectations for this production. “I really hope it turns out well. I’m a little nervous because we have such a little amount of time to put this show on, and it’s harder than I thought it would be. However, I have high hopes, and the cast is pretty solid,” she said.

Campbellsville University is a widely acclaimed Kentucky-based Christian university with more than 3,600 students offering 63 undergraduate options, 17 master’s degrees, five postgraduate areas and eight pre-professional programs. The website for complete information is campbellsville.edu.
