CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Dr. Joel Carwile, member of the Campbellsville University Board of Trustees and senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Athens, Ala., will speak at Campbellsville University’s chapel service Wednesday, April 14 at 10 a.m.
Carwile has been in ministry for 32 years and has been at First Baptist Church since August 2015. He was baptized at eight years old and credits his mother with being an influence to accept Christ into his life.
He is a 1982 graduate of West Limestone High School. Carwile received his Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University in 1998 and his Master of Theology degree from Campbellsville University in 2009. He also holds degrees from The Southern Theological Seminary and George Fox Evangelical Seminary.
Carwile served his first term as a member of the Campbellsville University Board of Trustees from 2012 to 2016. He is in his second four-year term which will end in 2021. He served as an associate trustee in 2017.
Carwile is married to Elizabeth Jo Ellen Mahan Carwile, and they have two children: Zeke and Dani.
