Description: Crossroads Baptist Church of Elizabethtown is seeking a highly motivated individual to lead our church’s efforts in ministering to children and their families under the leadership of the Family Pastor while upholding the Church’s vision for family ministry. The ideal candidate has a vibrant walk with Jesus, significant experience ministering to children and parents, experience managing volunteers, and clearly aligns with our church theologically and doctrinally. This role requires a person who relates well with people of different ages and backgrounds as Crossroads embraces a family equipping model of Ministry.
Responsibilities:
-Oversee all programming for children throughout the church under the leadership of Family Pastor.
-Develop a ministry plan to achieve the vision of family ministry under the leadership of the Family Pastor.
-Research and develop resources to equip families in the discipleship process of the children.
-Provide leadership for regular ongoing children’s programming and discipleship.
-Plan and oversee special events related to children and families in including VBS, fall festivals, camps, etc.
-Review and assign all curriculum used by the children’s ministry and ensure its consistency with the church’s doctrinal commitments and vision.
-Report to the church’s leadership on accomplishments and needs of children’s ministry; maintain the integrity of children’s Bible teaching time.
-Recruit, develop and manage children’s ministry volunteers.
-Explore emerging technologies that help engage more volunteers.
-Engage in Gospel-centered outreach to the children and families of the community in coordination with the Missions Pastor.
-Maintain a security system that protects children in our churches care in coordination with the Safety Team under the leadership of the Administration Pastor
-In consultation with the family ministry team and under the leadership of the Administration pastor, develop an annual budget proposal for the children’s ministry and operate within the constraints of the approved budget.
Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (preferably in education or Christian ministry).
A desire to teach and mentor children in biblical truth; and to equip and support parents in the discipleship of their children.
A flexible attitude and ability to adapt to the fluid situations that are prevalent in a young, growing church.
A growing Christian faith and character.
A strong commitment to unity within the church, staff, and ministry team.
Must pass a background check.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of willingness to serve within the doctrinal commitments of the church.
A strong commitment to the mission of the church; joyful imaginative and creative disposition.
