CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Jeff Palmer of Baptist Global Relief will be speaking at Campbellsville University’s chapel service on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. in Ransdell’s Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.
This event is free and open to the public.
Palmer was born and raised in New Johnsonville, Tenn. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in biology from Union University (1981), master’s of agriculture from Murray State University (1983) and attended The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (1988).
He, along with his wife, Regina, has served over 20 years with the International Mission Board based in Southeast Asia. They were in the southern Philippines 16 years and five years in northern Thailand. Both have utilized their expertise (agriculture and health care) to help people in need as well as proclaim the Kingdom among those they have worked with through the years.
In 2006, the Palmers were asked to initiate a new Southern Baptist international relief and development organization called Baptist Global Response (BGR). They originally located in Singapore but have now moved back to Nashville and live in Mt. Juliet.
Palmer serves as BGR executive director. BGR works to help the poorest of the poor through disaster relief, community development and connecting Southern Baptist resources to strategic needs around the world.
The couple has three children: Daniel, Sarah and Ethan. They have one grandson, Isaac.
