CU concert chorus to present ‘Seven Last Words’

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University’s School of Music will present the university’s concert chorus in a performance of the cantata, “The Seven last Words of Christ,” by French composer Theodore Dubois’.

The event will take place Monday, April 30 at 8 p.m. in CU’s Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, Ky.

Dr. David Hedrick, assistant professor of music at CU, will be directing the chorus as CU’s orchestra accompanies them with student soloists.

Other compositions of the program include “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” by J. S. Bach, “In Paradisum” from Requiem by Gabriel Fauré; conducted by graduate conducting student Jeffrey Stone and “Sanctus” from St. Cecilia Mass by Charles Gounod with tenor soloist Jian Jia Wang.

The program is free and the public is invited to attend.
