CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.—Dr. Karen Westbrooks of Louisville, Ky., has been employed as assistant master of science in counseling program director and associate professor of counseling at Campbellsville University’s Louisville Education Center, according to an announcement from Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University.
Before coming to Campbellsville University, Westbrooks served as consultant to the superintendent of the Ritenour School District from 2010 to 2012. She served as professor of counseling and family therapy at Western Kentucky University from 1993 to 2003. She also served as clinical/community services supervisor from 1987 to 1993, and chaplain counselor at Lutheran Medical Center from 1983 to 1987.
Westbrooks received the College Award for Excellence in Teaching and the University Award for Excellence in Teaching from Western Kentucky University. She also received the Dedicated Service Award from the Kentucky Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
Westbrooks is a 1979 graduate of Visitation Academy, and a graduate of Valparaiso University and Saint Louis University.
She is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and previously was a member of the American Counseling Association.
She is the daughter of the late Darlene and Melvin Westbrooks.
