CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Dr. Fred Newby of Charlestown, Ind., has been employed as a business professor at Campbellsville University, according to an announcement from Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University.
Newby graduated from Waverly High School in Waverly, Ohio in 1959. He graduated from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky., with his bachelor’s degree in social studies. He holds a master of science in operations management from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark., a master of arts in human resource management from Webster University in Webster Groves, Mo., as well as a doctorate in business administration from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Newby has also done postgraduate study at Nova Southeastern University.
Newby is retired from the United States Air Force where during his time he was stationed in Madrid, Spain and in the Panama Canal Zone. While in the Air Force, he was awarded a Good Conduct Medal and a National Defense Service Medal among other awards.
Newby is a professional member of the American Management Association, Epsilon Beta Delta and a sponsor of Phi Beta Lambda.
He has been a social studies teacher at Fort Zumwalt High School in O’Fallon, Mo., and has taught business at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Ky. and at Sullivan University in Louisville, Ky.
