CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University student Patty Mings of Eastview, Ky., will be having an art exhibit from Dec. 5 to Dec. 15 in the Campbellsville University Art Gallery, 205 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky.

The artwork will consist of graphite, pen and ink, pastels (soft and oils), colored pencil, watercolor, ceramics, 3-D design and photographs.

A reception for Mings will be Saturday, Dec. 10 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the gallery. The public is invited.

Mings attended Elizabethtown Community and Technical College and will receive a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Art with a minor in psychology from Campbellsville University in May 2012.

Mings took part in the Juried Art Show at CU in the spring of 2011 and in a student art exhibit at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College.

“The art that I create falls in the category of traditional visual arts and is ‘object oriented’ with the scale of my work medium to small sized,” she said. “I want the viewer to be able to identify with my art so I use everyday objects or ideas that people see or recognize on a daily basis. I want the viewer to feel that the aesthetics of my artwork gives them pleasure whether they are youngsters or oldsters,” Mings said.

She has been married 36 years to Dale Mings. She was reared in North  College Hill, Ohio. They have three adult children and four grandsons.

Campbellsville University is a widely acclaimed Kentucky-based Christian university with more than 3,500 students offering 63 undergraduate options, 17 master’s degrees, five postgraduate areas and eight pre-professional programs. The website for complete information is campbellsville.edu.
