CU to be featured on ‘WAVE 3 Listens’ TV show June 1

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University will be featured on WAVE 3 TV in Louisville, Ky. Wednesday, June 1 on the “WAVE 3 Listens” show at 10 a.m.

The one-hour show will feature the many aspects of Campbellsville University including academics and athletics and also a live remote from the Louisville Education Center.

“The June 1 television coverage by WAVE 3-Louisville is a good opportunity for us to share about the ongoing growth in enrollment and academic programs at Campbellsville University,” Dr. Michael V. Carter, president, said.

“The visit to the CU Louisville Education Center will enable us to highlight the growing number of programs that are offered for the metropolitan area, and we will also be discussing the many ways in CU is impacting the state of Kentucky and beyond.

“This is another, among many ways, in which we are working very hard to share the story and mission of Campbellsville University to an increasingly growing audience.”

Dr. Keith Spears, vice president for regional and professional education, who oversees the Louisville Education Center, said, “We are excited to work with WAVE-TV to bring the message of Campbellsville University to one of the largest markets in America. It will reinforce that CU offers significant higher education opportunities in the Louisville Metro region.”

Campbellsville University has begun a new emphasis in broadcasting with the addition of a new FM radio station, 88.7. Students get hands-on experience now with both radio and television at WLCU broadcast studios.

Students can study broadcasting and digital media, journalism, photojournalism and public relations as part of the Mass Communication Department at Campbellsville University.

“I jumped at the opportunity to help with this project,” Alan Haven of Shelbyville, who graduated May 14, said.

“It is giving me the chance to develop a video for this production that will appear in one of the top markets in the nation,” he said.
