CU to Host Western Recorder Editor at Chapel

CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TO HOST EDITOR OF WESTERN RECORDER DURING CHAPEL SERVICE, OCT. 14

Dr. Todd DeatonCAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.—Dr. Todd Deaton, editor of the Western Recorder in Louisville, Ky., will speak at Campbellsville University’s chapel service, Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. in the Ransdell Chapel at 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.

The chapel service is free and open to the public.

 

Deaton has served as editor of the Western Recorder since January 2009. He has also served as managing editor of the Baptist Courier in South Carolina from 1996 to 2009, and as associate editor of the Biblical Recorder in North Carolina from 1989 to 1996.

During his seminary years, Deaton served as an intern/staff writer for the Western Recorder.

 

Deaton graduated from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C., in 2009 with a doctorate in education, and from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., in 1988 with a master of divinity degree.

 

Deaton graduated from Furman University in Greensville, S.C., in 1985 with a bachelor of arts in English. He is a 1981 graduate of Woodruff High School in South Carolina.

 

Deaton is a member of the Association of State Baptist Papers and the Baptist Communicators Association.

Deaton and his wife, Michelle, have two children, Laura and Caleb.

Chapel is designed to provide opportunities for corporate worship and exposure through of a variety of informative speakers and presentations.

All chapels are open to the public free of charge and are televised live on WLCU-TV-4 (Comcast Cable channel 10) and are streamed live on the Internet.
