CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.— Campbellsville University will host a faculty colloquium Monday, March 11 at 3 p.m. in room 15 of the Administration Building, located on CU’s campus at 104 University Drive, Campbellsville.
The colloquium will feature speakers Dr. SiHyun Paik, visiting scholar at CU who serves as chair of management information systems at YUST, and Dr. DeWayne Frazier, associate vice president for academic affairs at Campbellsville University.
The title of the colloquium is, “Pyongyang University of Science and Technology (North Korea, PUST) and Yanbian University of Science and Technology (China, YUST) opportunities for sharing education and faith across geopolitical lines.”
PUST is located in the Democratic Republic of North Korea (DRNK). It was planned and developed by DRNK along with other nations including China and the United States. The Evangelical Christian Movement largely funds this initiative through a collective partnership with YUST. PUST institution opened its doors in October 2010.
Campbellsville University is connected with PUST and YUST via the Consortium of Global Education (CGE). CGE is a non-profit global organization located in 22 USA states on accredited private universities and colleges campuses committed to quality programs of international education.

Paik holds his bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate from Ajou University in South Korea, with a focus in industrial engineering. “Development of Vehicle Scheduler for Heterogeneous Fleet using Cubic Genetic Algorithm” is the title of his dissertation.
Paik is the husband of UnHee Kim; they have two children, YeChan and Yechung.
Frazier received his bachelor degree in political science/mathematics from Campbellsville University. He went on to complete his master’s at the University of Kentucky in international politics and at the University of Louisville in higher education administration. Also, at the University of Louisville he earned his doctorate in organizational leadership. His dissertation topic was, “Job Satisfaction of International Educators in the Post September 11th Era.”
Frazier serves on the President’s Administrative Cabinet at Campbellsville University and is an associate professor in the Division of Social Sciences.
Frazier and his wife Sarah have six children.
Dr. Roscoe Bowen, coordinator of the colloquium who serves as associate professor of exercise science at CU, said, “During the presentation the audience will learn more about PUST and YUST from Dr. SiHyn Paik, visiting scholar from YUST, and Dr. DeWayne Frazier, associate vice president for academic affairs. The audience will discover opportunities for engagement in this region through teaching and scholarship.”
