CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Brenda Tungate, assistant professor of biology at Campbellsville University, has been promoted to associate professor of biology and has also received tenure at Campbellsville University, according to an announcement from Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University.
Tungate has served at Campbellsville University since 2005. She teaches human anatomy and physiology, medical microbiology, immunology, biology, biochemistry and botany.
Tungate graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, in 1989. In 1991, she received a Master of Science in Zoology, also from Miami University. She served as a graduate assistant at Miami University, where she taught courses in zoology and botany, and conducted research in population genetics and molecular systematics.
Tungate has previously served as an adjunct faculty member at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College, Eastern Kentucky University and Cincinnati State Technical and Community College.
She also served as assistant professor at Somerset Community College where she taught human anatomy and physiology, human ecology, introductory biology and medical terminology.
At Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown, Wisc., she served as assistant professor, teaching biology, zoology, botany, field botany, anatomy and physiology, microbiology, cell biology, genetics and college algebra.
She also served as an instructor at Hamilton Baptist College and Hamilton Christian School in Hamilton, Ohio.
