CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. –– Dr. Candace Hansford, assistant professor of social work at Campbellsville University, has been promoted to associate professor of social work, according to an announcement made by Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University.

Hansford received her Bachelor of Arts from Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Ky. in 1994.
She completed her Master of Science in Social Work from Southern Seminary in Louisville Ky. in 1997. Her thesis was titled “Hand in Hand: A Mentoring Program to increase Self-Esteem for High Risk Expectant Mothers.”
Hansford graduated with a doctorate in 2005 from the College of Social Work at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Her dissertation was titled “A Structural Equation Model of Maternal Post-TANF Employment: An Analysis of Economic Deprivation and Hardship, Maternal Well-Being and Parental Strain.”
Hansford has taken graduate social work classes to Costa Rica on a mission trip to learn about social work in another country.
Hansford has served at CU as assistant professor of social work since 2008.
Her husband, Jon, serves as director of First Year Experience at Campbellsville University.
