SUMMARY
Plan, conduct, and evaluate all aspects of musical worship.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
➢ Direct church choir and lead contemporary worship band.
➢ Encourage, cultivate, and nurture Christian discipleship in all those who participate in leading musical worship.
➢ Select congregational songs and choral selections that cultivate an atmosphere of worship in line with themes of the service and liturgical season in all worship services.
➢ Schedule and coordinate all rehearsals and related activities for the choir and band.
➢ Provide training to choir and band that increases understanding of worship leadership and competency in musical ability.
➢ Coordinate/direct at least one (1) special program annually for the adult choir.
(Examples: Christmas cantata, Easter musical, etc.)
➢ Procure competent substitutes for self, accompanist, and band members in the event of absences.
➢ Maintain the music library, equipment, materials and supplies.
➢ Provide direction as requested for musical children’s programs and children’s participation in worship services.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

➢ Bachelor’s Degree
➢ 2 to 3 years’ experience in music ministry preferred
➢ Of the Christian faith; United Methodist preferred
➢ Good oral and human relations skills.
➢ Proven track record of self-motivation and proficiency in planning, implementing, evaluating and constructing programs relative to this position.
➢ Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
