CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Dr. Brenda Priddy, dean of the School of Education and associate professor of education at Campbellsville University, has been promoted to professor of education, according to an announcement from Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University.

Priddy of Elizabethtown has served at Campbellsville University since 2002.
Prior to serving at Campbellsville University, Priddy served as interim principal at LaRue County Middle School in Hodgenville, Ky. from 2000 to 2001. She served with the Kentucky Department of Education in Frankfort, Ky. as a distinguished education from 1996 to 1999, and as a staff development consultant/staff development director from 1979 to 1985.
Priddy served at Elizabethtown Independent as assistant superintendent for instruction/instructional supervisor from 1985 to 1996. She began as an English teacher at Owen County High School in Owenton, Ky. from 1971 to 1978.
Priddy is a 1967 graduate of Henry Clay High School in Lexington, Ky. She received a bachelor of arts in English from the University of Kentucky in 1971, a master of arts in secondary education/English from Morehead State University in 1976, a Rank I in educational administration from the University of Kentucky in 1984, and a doctorate of education in educational administration in 2002 from the University of Louisville through the cooperative doctoral program with Western Kentucky University.
Priddy was appointed to two Kentucky Educational Professional Standards Board task forces, the Committee for Review of Admissions and Clinical Experience, 2009 to 2010; and the Program and Accreditation Review Committee, 2010 to present.
She has also served as state chairperson for accreditation visits at Spalding University and Union College and as a team member at Berea College, Kentucky Christian University and Kentucky State University.
Priddy has served as a leadership team member of the Kentucky Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education since 2003. She is a charter member of Kappa Delta Pi, Alpha Epsilon Omega chapter, and was inducted into Kappa Delta Gamma, Mu chapter in 2010.
Priddy and her husband, Lewis, are members of Immanuel Baptist Church and have two grown children: Michael of San Diego, Calif., and Shawne of Fredericksburg, Va. She has three grandchildren: Tyus, Olivia and Chloe.
