CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. –Dr. Robert VanEst, associate professor of education at Campbellsville University, has been promoted to professor of education, according to an announcement from Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University.

VanEst has served at Campbellsville University since August 2001.
He received the Faculty Servant Leadership Award at CU’s Honors and Awards Day held in April.
VanEst, who is from Indiana, received his three university degrees from Indiana State University.
He graduated from Indiana State in 1969 with a bachelor of science degree with an English major. In 1997, he received his master of science degree in English teaching from Indiana State, and his doctorate in 2000 in curriculum and instruction/English.
VanEst was an English instructor at Indiana State University from 1995 to 2001 teaching English composition. He also served as an English instructor at Terre Haute Ivy Tech State College from 1997 to 2001 where he taught English composition and technical writing.
From 1969 to 1972, VanEst was an English teacher and audio-visual director at Plainfield School Corporation in Plainfield, Ind.
He has belonged to the Indiana State Teachers Association.
VanEst is married to Karen VanEst and has three children: Delight, Joy and Matt. He is the son of the late Alice and Allen VanEst of Columbus, Ind.
