Dr. Sunny Onyiri receives promotion

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.— Dr. Sunny Onyiri, assistant professor of business and economics at Campbellsville University, has been promoted to professor of business and accounting, according to an announcement from Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University.

Onyiri of Nigeria has been employed at Campbellsville University since 2002.

In the past, Onyiri was a visiting assistant professor at Embry-Riddle University at the Cheyenne Center of the Francis E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming from 2001 until he came to Campbellsville University in 2002.

Onyiri has also taught as an adjunct assistant professor at Indiana Wesleyan University where he taught finance, accounting, and business classes. From 1994 to 1999, he was a visiting lecturer in accounting, finance, and economics at Ojims College in Nigeria.

Onyiri received his bachelor’s of finance in 1984 from the University of Louisiana and his master’s of science in accounting in 1987 from Walsh College. He received his Ph. D. in finance in 1994 from Union Institute and University.

Onyiri has belonged to the Institute of Management Accountants and the Financial Management Association.
