General Purpose:
Enrollment Counselors are responsible for contacting potential online students who have requested information from our partner schools and guiding them through the enrollment process. The Enrollment Counselors are the primary contact with the potential student as he/she articulates through the enrollment process, including providing guidance on programs of interests and creating connections for questions around transcripts, tuition planning, and transfer credits. The goal is to support prospective students to understand and achieve their educational objectives.
Role Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
Position Responsibilities:
- Ensure contact and follow-up is made with every potential student via telephone, email or text.
- Assist prospective students with the admissions and enrollment process.
- Work as part of a team with others (Tuition Planner, Transcript Processors, and Articulation and Transfer Credit Specialists) to ensure student success.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and effectively
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
- Customer service, sales, or marketing experience preferred.
- Positive attitude and a high level of energy and enthusiasm
- Goal and results oriented
- Willingness to learn and understand higher education as well as diverse programs of study from multiple institutions.
Competencies:
- Project Management: follow project plans and standard operating procedures with flexibility to adjust length of tasks or order to meet deadlines.
- Customer Service: guide discussions with potential students, understanding partner university programs, processes, and procedures to resolve any questions or issues from prospective students.
- Develops Community: actively participates in internal team meetings and training as well as partner meetings to drive TLH and partner objectives
- Utilizes Processes: follows procedures and guidelines of TLH and partner institutions
- Improves Processes: suggests ideas for improvement for the enrollment process and understands impact of suggested improvements to other departments.
- Active Listening: Listens and reacts tactfully to communication and discovers core motivation of student, including asking clarifying questions, summarizing, and guiding prospective students to make decisions regarding next steps that meet his/her educational goals.
- Craft Clear Communication: writes (email, text, chat) and speaks meaningful communication to prospective students and partner institutions
- Problem Solving: identifies problems with the prospective students and partner institutions during the enrollment process and provides solutions and alternatives.
Performance Objectives
- Tactical: handle approximately 75 prospective students at a time through the enrollment process. Provide timely and high-quality contact with new prospects as well as articulated students, demonstrating the ability to address and resolve problems throughout the enrollment process
- Adaptive: address prospective student and partner concerns during the enrollment process and suggest alternatives to the enrollment process, at an individual, team, partner, and organization-level
Special Position Requirements:
Occasional travel up to 10%
