The Executive Director of First Chance Center in Paoli Indiana –a part of Orange County Rehabilitative and Developmental Services Inc.
POSITION TITLE: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR; FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Executive Exemption
QUALIFICATIONS: The Executive Director shall have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in field on rehabilitation, business, education, or a related field and prefer at least five years work experience.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
- Implement the policies of the Board of Directors.
- Attend all meeting of the Board of Directors and its committees.
- Recommend improvements, in the First Chance Center operations, to the Board of Directors
- Supervise First Chance Center employees and subcontractors.
- Arrange all necessary services to maintain and operate all roll and personal property of First Chance Center
- Develop budgets.
- Maintain First Chance Center expenditures within the approved budget.
- Maintain the financial records of the First Chance Center.
- Consult First Chance Center attorney on behalf of the Board of Directors,
- Maintain corporate and legal records,
- Safeguard First Chance Center assets; maintain a system of internal controls.
- Make prudent investments of First Chance Center funds with approval of and assistance from the Board of Directors.
- Arrange an annual audit
- Develop contingency plans for emergencies.
- Review adequacy of insurance for casualty, liability, workers compensation, directors and officers, employee dishonesty and motor vehicle operation, with assistance of a consultant, if necessary.
- File appropriate tax returns with federal, state and local tax revenue agencies as prepared by the First Chance Centers Fiscal Department and CPA
- Communicate with directors, staff and patrons via newsletter, bulletin boards and other media.
- Negotiate vendor contracts, utilizing competitive bidding procedures and other reasonable means of negotiations.
- Perform those duties reasonably afforded Executive Directors of similar organizations.
- Security Officer
- Ensuring compliance with the Indiana Transit Asset Management (TAM) Group Plan and submitting required data and information to INDOT Office of Transit on an annual basis
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Present a good image to the community
- Ability to have a long-range vision for the agency
- Needs excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of fiscal management
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS: The Executive Director is the administrative agent of First Chance Center. He/she is responsible to the Board of Directors for the implementation of board approved policies and programs as well as selection and supervision of personnel required to fulfill the mission of the organization.
