CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Want to pick up some extra credit hours? Campbellsville University’s January Term has undergraduate offerings which allow students to finish or even start their degree earlier.

The term, which runs a total of eight days (Dec. 27 through Dec. 30, 2011, and Jan. 3 through Jan. 6, 2012), offers students the opportunity to fit in some extra credit hours in a short amount of time.

Dr. Frank Cheatham, vice president for academic affairs, said, “A January term class provides the opportunity for students to focus on only one course at a time as well as helping them move toward graduation.”

Emily Campbell, a sophomore from Louisville, Ky., took American Government during January term last year and plans to take another course in the upcoming January term. “I like taking Jan. term courses because it’s a quick and easy way to finish up a class. I plan on taking Religion in Life during Jan. term to lighten my load for the spring semester.”

In addition, several courses for January term are offered online, which allows students to stay in the comfort of their home for the rest of the winter break while still taking a class.

Online January term course offerings include: Marketing I, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, International Business, Operation Management, Environment and Man, Introduction to Old Testament Study, Introduction to New Testament Study, Religion in Life, Computer Concepts and Applications, Introduction to Physical Activity, Introduction to Philosophy, and ESL/EFT Assessment.

January term courses offered on campus include: Understanding Art, Selected Topics (in Theology), Social Statistics, Literary Studies, Shakespeare, United States to 1877, Internship/Independent Study (in political science), Fundamentals of Speech, Understanding Music, American Government, and Selected Topics: Adv. Top. Research (political science).
