‘Go Global’: CU International Education Week starts Nov. 15

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University’s Center of Global Engagement will be hosting its annual International Education Week Nov. 15 through Nov. 19 with the theme “Go Global!”

“The purpose of International Week is to celebrate the cultures, countries and people represented on campus,” Amanda Goforth, director of the Center for Global Engagement, said.

The festivities will kick off Monday, Nov. 15 with a Food for Thought discussion titled “You’re Speaking My Language” at 6 p.m. in the Badgett Academic Support Center (BASC) atrium, 110 University Drive, Campbellsville. This event involves discussion of how to communicate cross-culturally.

The annual International Fair will take place in the Student Activity Center (SAC) on Wednesday, Nov. 17 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Everyone is invited to visit the various student-organized booths with cultural information, native food and entertainment.

“We hope that everyone who participates in the fair and our other International Week events will be inspired to take action and get involved globally,” Goforth said.

A parade of nations sponsored by CU ResLife will take place on Thursday, Nov. 18. Additionally, a giveaway will take place on Nov. 18 outside Winters Dining Hall, 411 N. Columbia Ave., Campbellsville. during lunch hours from 11 a.m. until 1:45 p.m.

International Game Night starts at 8 p.m. in the Student Activity Center, 106 University Drive, Campbellsville, on Friday, Nov. 19. Students will have the opportunity to gather and play games from around the world as part of this Friday Night Fun event in collaboration with the Office of Student Activities.

“We encourage all CU students to take an interest in the world by connecting with people from other cultures, getting involved with a global cause, traveling or experiencing another culture here in the U.S.,” Goforth said.
