About WAVE:
WAVE 3 News is the NBC affiliate for Louisville, KY. We are Kentucky’s first television station, and we lead the way in connecting the people of WAVE Country. We offer nearly 60 hours of local television news per week, 40 hours of live programming in the field throughout the week of the Kentucky Derby, and coverage on digital, social, and OTT channels throughout the day.
Job Summary/Description:
WAVE 3 News in Louisville is looking for an experienced and aggressive Investigative Reporter who has the passion and drive to develop sources and break stories. You would be joining WAVE 3 News Troubleshooters, the most accomplished investigative team in the market. Our ideal candidate would help expose waste and fraud, and would have an emphasis on, but not be limited to, consumer investigations. The candidate would also be part of lead-story and major breaking news coverage.
The primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Enterprise investigative stories for multiple platforms
– Handle multiple deadlines and assignments in a fast-paced environment
– Cover lead stories and breaking news when needed
– Work effectively with managers, producers, photographers and fellow reporters
– Shoot and edit video, if needed
Qualifications/Requirements:
– At least two years of experience as a television investigative reporter
– Proven investigative skills, including developing sources and accessing open records
– Strong storytelling and writing ability
– Knowledge and effective use of broadcast, digital, and social media tools
– Ability to shoot and edit video
