Kentucky dept. for Public Health is hiring for multiple Part-Time and Full-Time positions regarding COVID-19 Contact Tracing.
The Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH) is preparing for a surge in COVID-19 contact tracing. We have unique part-time to full-time job opportunities available across the entire state for Public Health colleagues:
Hours: Part-time commitment (min. 20 hours/week) through full-time
Salary: $20/hour
Start date: As soon as May 15th
The work involves responsibility for investigating situations concerning individuals who have been in contact with COVID-19, which could result in possible sources of infection. The work includes locating patients of COVID-19 and persons with whom they have had contact. Investigation procedures involve contacting various information sources such as welfare agencies, neighbors, hospitals, work locations, restaurants and bars. The investigator is primarily concerned with locating persons who should be examined for acute infection. General supervision is received from an administrative superior with leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative in carrying out the mandate of the Kentucky Department for Public Health. Certain assignments made to employees in this position will require reasonable access to transportation to meet field work requirements made in the ordinary course of business in a timely and efficient manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current student or graduate from a college of public health, medical science, college of nursing, or school of medicine.

- COVID-19 Contact Tracers Summary:
Contact tracing is part of the process of supporting patients with suspected or confirmed infection. In contact tracing, public health staff work with a patient to help them recall everyone with whom they have had close contact during the timeframe while they may have been infectious.

- COVID-19 Regional Database Manager Summary:
Case investigation, contact tracing, and contact follow-up and monitoring will need to be linked with timely testing, clinical services, and agile data management systems to facilitate real-time electronic transmission of laboratory and case data for public health action. Case management tools can help automate key pieces of the contact tracing process, making the overall process more efficient. COVID-19 Data Managers enter data into relevant systems and maintain those systems for up to date case investigation purposes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of an Associate’s Degree, or higher from an accredited college or university in Community Health Services, Epidemiology, Biological Science, Health Education, Public Health, or a closely related field.

This position, under the direction of the Healthcare Acquired Infection Program, is responsible for the effective direction and coordination of the infection prevention and control recommendations for inpatient healthcare facilities experiencing cases or outbreaks of COVID-19. This may include providing education of healthcare personnel and consultation with the organization and the county and state health departments. The responsibilities encompass compliance with Joint Commission (JC) standards, CMS, OSHA, and state regulations, outbreak investigation, and overall direction of the infection prevention and control program.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and knowledge or experience with infection prevention or infection control.
