Landon Cambron, a Marion County High School senior and a dual-credit student at Campbellsville University, has advanced in the Joseph S. Rumbaugh Historic Oration Contest, sponsored by the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution.
Cambron’s five-minute oration on voting rights won the contest hosted by Frankfort’s Colonel Daniel Boone Chapter and will face other such winners in the state contest on March 20.
The Joseph S. Rumbaugh Historical Oration Contest is open to all high school students (9th through 12th grades) interested in the American Revolution. The contest is for all students attending public, parochial, private or home school students in that same grade range.
Landon, the son of Keith and Bettina Cambron, will graduate in May and plans to attend the University of Louisville or the University of Kentucky. “I want to major in political science,” Cambron said. “I may pursue a law degree in constitutional law. I would love one day to be able to run for office and serve my community.”
