Panel to discuss impact of Women in Sports at March 23 chapel service

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Former Campbellsville University women’s basketball players will participate in a panel discussion to commemorate Women in Sports.

Jamie Lawrence, executive director of ministry and church outreach, said the panel “will be discussing women in sports and the impact it has had on them personally through the years.”

The panel will speak at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 23, in Ransdell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, Ky. at chapel in-person.

The panel will consist of Ginger High-Colvin, head women’s basketball coach; Shannon Wathen, head softball coach; Christi Thomas McGuire, a 1997 graduate of Campbellsville University; Christy Cruise Rogers, a 1987 graduate of Campbellsville University; Shajuana Ditto, a 2005 and 2009 graduate of Campbellsville University; and Sara Higdon Thurmond, a 2001 graduate of Campbellsville University.

All panelists are former Lady Tiger basketball players.

Dr. Lauren Willis, associate professor of human performance and physical education, will lead the panel discussion.

The chapel service will be televised live on WLCU (Comcast Cable channel 10 and digital channel 15) and streamed live at wlcutv.com and the Campbellsville University Facebook page.

Chapel is designed to provide opportunities for corporate worship and exposure through a variety of informative speakers and presentations.
