CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – In response to COVID-19 social distancing and postponement of church services, Campbellsville University’s TV and radio station, WLCU-TV/FM, is doing its part to help the community in these uncertain times.
Jeannie Clark, general manager of WLCU-TV/FM and director of broadcast services, said WLCU-TV/FM is providing airtime to churches in Campbellsville and Taylor County at no charge until May 1, 2020 or whenever restrictions are lifted.
Clark said, “This is to give churches an opportunity to worship with their congregations amid restrictions on public gatherings. We also hope this will reach people who may be nonmembers but are interested in messages of God’s hope.”
This offer allows a production to air one time in a designated slot. WLCU reserves the right to replay the production on additional days and times after the first airing. Time slots will be determined based on availability and will be limited under the following conditions:
Airtime: Each church who responds will be given one opportunity per week on a rotating basis to air their worship service content. Scheduling will be based on time availability and is subject to change.
Delivery of Production: Your service must be delivered in a digital format such as a Dropbox link or Google Drive access. You must verify with WLCU as to your preferred delivery method to ensure they have compatibility.
If the route your church chooses is a link, it needs to be emailed to Alex Meade, television programming and production director, at atmeade@forms.campbellsville.edu. Productions must be delivered no later than Monday at 5 p.m. for the week of airing.
After 5 p.m. on Monday, WLCU cannot guarantee your production will make air. DVDs, flash drives or any other type of hard copy will not be accepted.
Formats: WLCU can only accept the following video and audio formats. If your production does not adhere to these format specifications, WLCU cannot air the program.
Length of production: WLCU is offering two length of time options. Option one is half an hour, which is no less than 28 minutes and no more than 29 minutes and 30 seconds.
Option two is one hour, which is no less than 58 minutes and no more than 59 minutes and 30 seconds. Productions must adhere to these time periods, otherwise the program will not air in its entirety.
Content: WLCU reserves the right to cancel any production from air if it does not meet or conflicts with the Campbellsville University Mission Statement. The Campbellsville University mission statement reads as follows:
